POWER PLANT (IPP) PROJECT
Port of Bengkulu is Ocean Going Harbour that located in West Coast of Sumatera, Indonesia. Port of Bengkulu is called Port Pulau Baai that position in 03o 54.493’ S / 102o 18.286’ E. Port of Bengkulu is located around 20 kms South of Bengkulu downtown with wide hinterland and potencies for mining, agriculture, and forestry for agrobusiness, mining and industrial development.
The entrance channel of Port of Pulau Baai Bengkulu has been more then 1 year experience dredging. The old entrance channel only have depth of low water 3.5 meters. Now, the depth of entrance Pulau Baai channel reach 12 meters at low water now. Till now ship with draft around 10 metres can safely entrance Port of Pulau Baai, Bengkulu.
Along with successfullness of entrance dredging channel Port of Pulau Baai, then the increasing of goods current traffic of ships and service can indicated at the height of ships arrival that lean in Port of Pulau Baai, Bengkulu. Some commodities that exporting domination in Port of Bengkulu is coal, Crude Palm Oil and result production process, rubber and others.
In order to fulfill the electricity requirement in Sumatera, especially in Bengkulu Province. The PLN intends to select a potential sponsor to develop Independent Power Producer (IPP) project in Bengkulu with capacity 2 X 100 MW Coal Fired Steam Power Plant on BOO dan BOOT basis pursuant to a long term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) up to 25 years.
One of the potential project sponsor is Daelim Energy, member of Koreas Company-Daelim Corporation, which has a list of experience in global Power Plant Project. Daelim has carried out a site survey in Pulau Baai-Bengkulu Area and discovered the most potential location for the project is in Pulau Baai port, the land is owned by IPC.
